Coming to a end..
Now that the school year is almost coming to a end I think that this English course has helped me out a lot. This whole school year has been a very long journey in a very short of time. My final for this course was a term paper that I have currently turned in and feel that I did a good job even though I feel that I could of added more information. I am proud that I have at least turned it in and I’m at this point of my high school journey.

My Best Writing
I have a writer's conference coming up with Dr. Preston, and I am excited to go over my blog post about “It’s my life” and “My Big Question.” I chose these two pieces for specific reasons. I want to show Dr. Preston my post about “It’s my life” to show how each individual or just myself have different ways onto viewing a topic or situation and how our decisions take action. “My Big Question” is my second piece I would like to show because it relates to how life is changing by the use of technology and how it even affects people we know.

Brave New World Essay
There are people that act who they tend to say to be but in reality they are not. People try to hide their real identity due to what happened in the past, and they want no one else to know. In Brave New World by Aldous Huxley there are multiple characters that act like someone who they are not, one of these characters is John the savage. Throughout the book we see how John changes his personality and tries to blend in with the rest because he was the only one that had a mother. John is different than most characters in many ways. John is the type of character that does the right thing but at the end changes. This relates to how people see society and how it changes them.
John is someone who is special in many ways. People see him differently because of where he comes from. In the beginning of the book we can see that John is someone who is lonely and like to do his own things. In chapter 8 we can see that John said "If one's different, one's bound to be lonely. They're beastly to one. Do you know, they shut me out of absolutely everything?” From what John said we can conclude that he did not have no one by his side because his mom would be sleeping with other men and he had no one else there for him. Therefore people looked at John and especially his mother differently for what they are.
People take drugs to take away the pain and to feel differently. Everyone in the Brave New World take soma for anything even when they’re going to sleep with someone else. In chapter 18 John reveals "Helmholtz exclaimed solicitously, "you do look ill, John!" “Did you eat something that didn't agree with you?" asked Bernard. The Savage nodded. "I ate civilization." From John’s and Helmholtz’s conversation we can see that John had taken some soma. John had felt guilty to what had happened between him and Lenina and how he rejected her. John is not used to how people live in the World State and he thinks off based on Shakespeare’s imagination. This also concludes that John changes because he was the only character the have not taken soma but his pain and guilt had got to him.
People evolve differently from someone’s first impressions because of the actions they had done. From Johns end of the story he could not take it no more from his mother’s death, Lenina and to the rest of the people’s lifestyle. At the end of chapter 18 the first arrivals said “Just under the crown of the arch dangled a pair of feet."Mr. Savage!" What they had seen was that John has committed suicide. This connects to the theme on how people see society and how society changes them. John did not have a great experience with people from the World State which then had cause the society to change him. The society had changed him because he started to see how people would act that ended up being too much for him to get used to.
In conclusion to how John had changed at the end was that society had controlled him. Society took over John’s life and who he was. Not everyone stays being who they say they are whether they keep saying it. Therefore people change their personalities and identity just to look like the rest.

Ignite Talk
From experience I’ve seen how little kids are taking over the use of technology. This lead to my big question which is, Is technology a good or bad thing for young kids? What I have done over spring break to support my big question was looking for research on the internet. From the research I learned that it is a good idea to let kids be on a screen but at the same time it can be a bad thing. This connects to Fahrenheit 451 because people can have an obsession to read and kids have an obsession to use technology. I will furthermore my research by making more research and ask people for their opinions.

Book Club of One
On behalf of my reading and learning I think that it helps me a lot to talk about the reading with other people also interested in the book. When they know what I’m talking about I feel more confident because we understood what the book or chapter meant to say or show us. When people have no idea of what I am talking about I feel more unsure about what I think I read which can be right or wrong.

BQ Thoughts
What I have recently done for my big question isn’t much work and think that I need to work on it very more often. Although I haven’t put in work for my question I do think of it often when I have a conversation that is related to the topic of the question and sometime when I am spaced out. I feel that I end up talking or thinking about my question when I am not in school and am at home just laying down or when watch a movie because then I start to think about my life and my next step onto accomplishing what I want.
My Online Me
When I have searched myself on google, safari, yahoo and bing I found a picture of myself. As I scrolled more I was able to find my name on a comment that I had commented on for Dr. Preston’s post, I found my Facebook account along with my Twitter account. Although I didn’t find no more information, I think that what is under my name is accurate enough to find who I am or just my social media accounts. It can reflect as my best self because I don’t have inappropriate posts or things on the internet and feel that it is appropriate to say that my name isn’t used somewhere else and it is clean.
It’s My Life
We can manage the choices in our life that we can control by doing what we need to do or get done. Some of us choose a decision that we think is right to do but other might not think the same and can find it offensive. The decision that we choose can make us powerful and successful by doing the right thing. Another thought can be on how it benefits us and base on how we plan to show it.

Good Morning
Three habits that I have onto getting ready is waking up at 6:40am every day, brush my teeth and wash my face and lastly get my headphones. Some of my habits that I am trying to stop is rushing through the morning and being late and another habit is sleeping early at night to be wide awake in the morning. Two habits that I want to start doing is trying to wake up at 6am instead of 6:40am and finally to place all my thing in one spot so I don’t waste time trying to look for them.

Reading Me
I usually don’t end up reading at home. I don’t read at home often l there is times where I am to tired, stressed out or busy and run out of time. I also think that I have a better understanding when I am reading at school than at home. At school I can be reading through the loudness and be well concentrated. At home I can also read as well through the loudness it is just that I get distracted fast and end up not reading.

We are living in the Brave New World
From the interview of Aldous Huxley over life in the brave new world he explains how life has changed us due to population, media/propaganda and drug addiction. In his interview he explains how population has had a rapid increase throughout the generations. Compared to now there is a huge growth of people all around the world which has lead the government to take a bigger responsibility. Between us and the media/propaganda now as of television it seems that we have been brainwashed from what we see on television like for example the advertisements that are being published. Over organization in technology has brought a great amount of people to start using technology. It seems that we have an drug addiction to what we have now. This type of addiction is also within drugs and the technical use that have been invented.

HAFTA/WANNA
The similarities between my life during high school and after is that I will still end up going to school for a good amount tying to studying what I want to become. There will also be times when I am stressed out whether iits during school or after. Another relationship that is shared with both timings is that I am going to still be responsible and even more after high school. Although life might turn out the same or different it doesn’t change the way that we do things.

What’s so great about Gatsby
-Gatsby is good to Daisy but some times is the greatest because he seems to be overprotective and almost obsessed to have her and whatever he wants ,acting two faced and hid who he really was.
-I don’t think Nick is so honest because he talks behind people’s backs. He is constantly hanging out with dishonest people because they’re rich and are alway talking about rumors. He respects them and seeks out relationships with them because they all have something in common and hide information that no one knows.
-The author introduces Tom and Daisy as he did because they didn’t care or took serious their relationship as if they were forced to be together. They also tend to fight a lot and get other people involved who then ends up trying to come up with a solution which makes them careless. I do agree that they were careless because none of them took each other seriously and especially their daughter.
-I do not really understand Daisy’s behavior because she seems to be bipolar throughout the book. I do not agree to the choices she had made because she wouldn’t take precaution of who and what were her surroundings or thought about the outcome of her decisions. She isn’t someone who I’ll let date someone I know because she can end up leaving them for someone else and isn’t mature enough.
-The last sentence of the book means that you can’t change who you are no matter what you’ll end up being who you actually are. This relates to the theme of the book and to the characters because the say and shows someone who they aren’t but try to act as if they were them just for show.

RICH PEOPLE & BACKWARD THINKING
Nick appears as a sexist and racist character by relying onto the way he talks to someone. His way of explaining something sounds in a serious threatening way. In the story he says “Here’s your money. Go and buy ten more dogs with it.” As a way to getting something he doesn’t want to buy like if he was force to buy it.

Down The Rabbit Hole
I had chosen to follow this link to this article about computer crashing before computers because I realize that technology has had a high increase ment till today and is improving at the same time. From the article I’ve learned that we always need to have a backup to all of our files because computers end up crashing and erases very important files that could of taken a long time. Therefore it is needed to have a extra copy to long term papers.

I had found this short story appealing because from what I’ve read I find it fascinating how someone can travel extremely to see what is left and I just like to know more about traveling and learn from their experience.

How To Get To Graceland
From my experience learning and reading is better when it is being shared. I think that my experience does align with what I saw in the Paul Simon video. In the video the people would contribute to Paul’s idea onto making music and onto adding beat or rhythm. When learning it’s always best to share with other because you can gain information or have a second opinion onto how you view something on the behalf of their perspective.

LA District strike: My Thoughts
From reading Los Angeles Times article based off the districts staff having a strike I believe that the teachers are right onto demanding more nurses, librarians and counselors to be hired and also lower the class size. The teachers had started this strike due to the students not having the right amount of attention and resources. With winning the strike they can have a chance to change the way the students learn and to have a better education.
